The Columbia STEM Alliance is partnering with the University of Missouri Schools of engineering and education to develop a Girls in STEM initiative to help bridge the gap. This initiative will focus on recruiting middle school girls to participate in classroom
and special event STEM programs. The Girls in STEM initiative will culminate in annual summer STEM camps. Hands-on and place-based lessons that help develop skills students need to accelerate in STEM fields.
During the school year, we’ll be working with teachers, administrators and counselors to engage middle school girls in classroom STEM programs and special events (such as Saturday STEAM workshops).
