Columbia Public Schools and The Columbia STEM Alliance have partnered together to continue operating Columbia’s one-and-only STEAM Bus. This bus has been in operation for the past 3 years and has received a 99% approval rating among the teachers who have scheduled it for their students.
Our STEAM Bus is an integral part of the “makerspace movement” found in many of Columbia’s elementary and middle schools. This space allows for young individuals to collaborate and access resources to explore and create within a safe space. Thus, the STEAM Bus is essentially a lab on wheels for those projects/activities which might be too costly or difficult to fund in an individual school.
