The Science of Soapmaking | Grades 4-6

Come learn how crafting and science go hand in hand with this soapmaking workshop! Students will have the chance to learn the science and history behind soapmaking. They will spend their 3 hours learning how to make soap, understanding why certain chemicals are used, and exploring how colorants impact and react within different soaping oils. Students will leave with a professionally made artisan soap, a bar of soap they made on site, as well as other fun body products (lip balm, etc…) that they created during their workshop.

**Products containing nuts will be used during this workshop.

**This is a Place Based course and will take place in the Mother Hens Soap Shop which is located in Millersburg (20 minutes outside of Columbia).
